Dear "an autonomous faction within the UCSC occupation" - I have a question: why are you occupying the graduate comms area? Not only is this of absolutely no inconvenience to the university administration whatsoever (hence why I believe you were issued with a letter basically stating: stay there, it doesn't really matter, you'll have to leave eventually) but also it is to the huge inconvenience of your fellow students - the very people who are already 'bleeding from the cuts' as it were. As I see it, there are many other areas of SC that could be occupied, and your vitriol about Berkeley and TJ Clark rings hollow when your actions are also so empty.

We are all in this together. Arguing about the'reform/revolution' dichotomy is pointless right up in the face of potential privatization and the divisive actions of the Regents. Yes we want everything, but we want to achieve it together; as Students, Staff, Faculty & Workers of the University of California as a whole.

You're right, I think this is at Berkeley. The e-mail I received (which will have gone to considerably more people than those who read this blog, by the way) suggested it was at Santa Cruz.

Surely you could offer a better response than 'Death to the reformists' and 'we want everything', though? You sound like Citizen Smith. There is, however, a delicious irony in throwing out these situ/'68 slogans against someone who was using them the first time round!

This address has nothing to do with the occupation at Santa Cruz. It is also a bunch of bullshit. Please re-title it. I think it has something to do with the bullshit that went down at UC Berkeley. Death to the reformists. We will not take it any more. WE WANT EVERYTHING. -- an autonomous faction within the UCSC occupation

Hi Phil,

Yes, I'm a fan of the Oulipeans and I suspect that's a big influence on the things I do with psychogeography, too. I think your point about the irony of all this happening in a gallery is well-observed -- that gives the work significantly more complexity than I'd appreciated.
